So we have our little London girl, with northern mother and Australian father. Her accent is very much that of a South London girl, and we’re slowly working on replacing some of the f’s with th’s.

Which is easier said than done. We’ve started with the basics – so no more ‘one, two, free, four’ – these days we have the far more imaginative ‘one, two, thhhree, thhhhfour’ instead.

Which I think I need to give her credit for, if only for being so creative with her additional th there.

Tonight we were reading about Winnie the Pooh and a smackerel of honey. Or rather, a “smackooroowww”. Yeah, think we’ll be working on the l’s next…
