We’ve been growing allsorts in the back yard. Beans, potatoes, tomatoes, chilis, courgettes and maybe more. They’re all becoming edible which is nice as it’s felt like forever to get here – though we’ve still a while with the potatoes.

H picked a tomato today, insisted she took a bite, then informed us “I don’t like it”. Oh, and a bean too “I don’t like it”.

We had a big tantrum at breakfast today, well, I say “we”, I mean H did; she wanted rice crispies, she had been given weetabix. We’d added some rice crispies to the cereal, but it wasn’t enough. “No! No! No!” she screamed several times. We ignored it as this bit is her trying to get our attention, so she hit me again on the arm. We took the breakfast away and I offered her toast. She picked it up and threw it, so we had ‘time out’, which on the second try seemed to work. A sad “sorry mummy” and a cuddle and she was sat down, grabbed her cereal and ate it like it was the best thing ever.

Aaaah, toddlers.
