Last night H woke at 4am, screamed loudly and yelled for me.

“Mummy! I had a bad dream!” she called. I went to give her a cuddle and hopefully get back to sleep afterwards too.

Her bad dream?

“A spider made me jump” she sadly told me this morning.

We need to toughen her up! Unless of course the spider jumped out from behind a chair and said “BOO!” of course which would be entirely justified. Is she already falling into that trap of being scared of spiders?

Seeing as she’s half Australian I’d be expecting her to laugh at the spider, tell him/her that he’s teeny tiny and she’s not in any way scared of him what-soooo-ever. There’s work to be done….

spiders are not scary
