has been going on. I’m sure I mentioned she’s got her first pair of shoes now? Well, she has – some cruising shoes, and cruising we’re almost at… it’s kind of scary how quickly it’s happened. Once upon a time she rolled everywhere, now she just crawls, pulls herself up, and climbs. Stairs are still an obstacle, though I suspect by the time we’re in the new place it wont be much longer before she’s got those mastered too…

She’s started chatting too, no coherent words, just “ba ba” a lot, or “va va” occasionally. I sit and chat to her “ba ba ba ba?” and she replies to me. Must be a parent thing, I think. She loves it that we’re talking – and all three of us have been known to sing at the same time at the table. She has a lovely sort of singing voice which ends up being all of us howling and matching her tone. She likes it a lot…

Then today, it happened. We were in her bedroom, and I looked over at her, she was stood up in bed. hanging onto the side. Dear god, I didn’t expect it this soon. Her shoulders come right over, and upper arms too. So we’ll be moving the mattress down to the lowest level pretty soon too… tomorrow, hopefully.

Shaun caught her looking at the back page of her ‘That’s Not My Baby’ book, where there’s a mirror (“that’s my baby! It’s YOU!”), and checking herself out and smiling. That was pretty cute!

Not so cute, she’s discovering everything. Telephone? Pull that cord! Plugs? Fingers must go in (thanks to my sister we have those covers) Glass doors? Must be leant against. V+ box, and television? Must be pushed back as far as possible.

Bought some watercolour paints at the weekend and got some decent hand and foot prints on paper. She hated it at first, though I was fairly quick to work out that if you bring the paper and paint to her, she doesn’t mind at all – she just hates having to lean forward to put her hand on there. Hmmmm….
