So yes, our gracious Queen has reigned over us for 60 years now, and because of this we’ve been given an extra day off work. (ta, Queen)

But we had something far more excellent going on in Carshalton – some local knitters (alas, not us Hooky Knitters) knitted some red, white and blue ducks, and arranged them on the bridge at the ponds. It’s really quite excellent and an absolutely fantastic idea. Even moreso, no local hooligans have taken them down and thrown them into the ponds – which makes it all the more heartwarming (that or whoever put them on the bridge has crocheted them on so well there’s no way they’d come off).

As we live so close to the ponds I thought it’d be foolish not to take a few photos.

So yeah, I think they’re pretty cool.

Mind, you still can’t beat overhearing a friend tell us when her son was asked who the Queen was, he answered “Queen Marigold” – ha!
