Country Kids – The Fair and the Park

Our local environmental fair was today which we went to, a good walk both ways – we were out from 11am until 4pm and there was plenty to do.

H’s favourite thing was the cycle stand – she got to try two different kinds of bike with Shaun which she loved. It was her first time on a two wheeled bike (even if it was attached to another) and it was brilliant!

Afterwards we walked back to the park at The Grove where she played on the stepping stone climbing frame as Shaun was with us – I’m terrified of it as I saw her cousin fall off it when he was much younger, so I’ve always had that fear. My fearless child got on with it, going down the slide or the pole without any problems or issues, just having fun.

I think I need to let go a bit too!

She finished off being the king of the castle, the park has a large stone castle in it to climb over which she loves – although part has recently broken off, so hopefully it’ll be fixed soon…

  1. What a lovely family day out – the bikes looked fun! Sometimes we have to stand back and let our children find their own limitations (as hard as it may be), although I can understand your caution as you’d seen another child hurt themselves. I’m glad H had a fab time at the park and let her imagination fun wild – thanks for sharing on Country Kids.
